Prince Sebastion is an original character of inkscribble - :iconinkscribble: We're doing an art trade, and this is my half.
I begged her to do a 1660s gown and she agreed. So I decided to do a 1660s suit, because they're awesome fun to design and I rarely get around to drawing them, and so our pics match in a way. :)

So; anyhoodle, this was indeed a lot of fun to design. I went in a weird direction with the trims, rather than just doing endless bunches of ribbons I decided to make a wide variation in the decoration which included gold cord... and weird embroidered borders and of course crushed ribbon.
That LACE COLLAR was INSANE to draw and colour! I have never achieved ANYTHING before that ORDEAL! But I'm really proud of it now :)

I'm starting to realise that I really was just NOT blessed with the gift of creating descent backgrounds. As usual I ran out of puff by the bg stage and decided I'd go for something simple - but COOL and COOKY this time as well! YES the lines are all meant to be wonky and NO I can't achieve a better blending effect than that! *sigh*

I can answer that, as he's my character. :)

I based Bastion very, very loosely on Sri Krishna, so to put it simply, he has an incredibly deep love for everything good in creation that makes the question a moot point.
